After fishing the Gulf Coast for over 25 years, I firmly believe that I have found the finest, most
effective rod in the custom rod built by Tommy Nuche of Tommy's Outdoor World in Bryan,
Texas. My comparisons are based on my previous use of high-end, commercially produced
rods in the $200.00+ range. His custom-built Rattler Rod definitely gives me greater casting
range and positive hook sets as well as unmatched sensitivity. Wintertime trout tend to be less
aggressive and using a rod that is sensitive enough to detect the slightest bite is the ticket, and
I've found the Rattler Rod rises to the challenge better than anything I've ever used. It's almost
like you can actually "see" the bottom through his rod.
I've always cleaned and repaired my own reels. Time constraints have forced me to have 3 of
my reels cleaned and repaired at reel repair shops and I have never been satisfied with their
service or their work. I was in the Bryan-College Station area one day on business and went by
Academy to look for reel parts and they recommended that I go by Tommy's rod and reel shop
so I took the chance, went by Tommy's and dropped off a sluggish reel for a general overhaul.
My reel operated flawlessly after Tommy finished with it. He is the only person that I trust
completely with my equipment. He cleans and repairs a reel like it was his own and he will
work on a reel even after it is clean until it feels right or he will not let it leave his shop. He takes
great pride in his work and his handshake is his guarantee. I never have to worry about my
reels operating like they should. It saves me time and gives me piece of mind to drop my reels
off at Tommy's because I know that when I pick them up, they've been taken care of by a "reel"
professional.

Tommy, I finally got some time to tell you thanks for the rod you made for me. I love it. The first fish

attention to details, but now that my interest has grown from putting a few fish on the stringer to limits and trophies, I've started
to pay a lot more attention to important details like my equipment. Most people that do not fish almost every day like I do, find it
hard to realize that if your reels aren't clean and operating at peak performance you will not catch as many fish. I've noticed,
when fishing next to others, that I am casting 20-50 feet farther because I keep my reels clean and the bearings spun free. I've
seen first hand many times that 20-50 feet more cast makes the difference between a 3 fish day and a 10 fish day.
The only person that I let clean my reels is Tommy Nuche. I can be sure that every time I leave my reels with Tommy, they come
back like brand new. In fact, every person that I have sent to Tommy has complimented his work as outstanding and his service
exceptional.
